7th Grade Science

Welcome to the 7th Grade Science class! I am so excited about the opportunity to get to know you and I am looking forward to a happy and productive school year (2018-2019).

I am from the beautiful island of Jamaica, which is an island in the Caribbean, and this will be my 10th (tenth) year teaching. Regarding my educational background I possess double major bachelor degrees in Biochemistry and Chemistry. Also I would like to tell you that I have a post graduate diploma training in education and training. The following are the standards to be covered throughout the year of study:

7.P.2 – Physical Science: Classification and Conservation of Matter 
7.L.3 – Life Science: Organization of Living Systems
7.L.4. – Life Science: Inheritance and Variation of Traits
7.EC.5 - Ecology: Interactions of Living Systems and the Environment 

Student Supplies ( Check out the school's grade supplies as well for overlaps):

Every day, unless otherwise directed, students will be responsible to bring to class:

1.      A pen and / or pencil with eraser ( red, black or blue)

2.      Science Textbook ( to be supplied)

3.      Notebook Paper

4.      3 ringed binder or composition book with (3) three sections

5.      Glue stick( small size)

6.      Highlighters

7.      Colored pencils, markers or crayons

8.      Note or Index Card

9.*When directed by teacher student may have to take calculators, blank paper and graph paper.

CLASSROOM NEEDS: Disinfectant wipes, Sanitizer- Germ-X,  Kleenex

No state administered end of year exam will be administered in this year however the year will be in depth to cover S.T.E.A.M centered approach, exam type practice and experiments.
